Meet our well-being champions 2022-2023
"We are trained to help people at home and at school that are sad or worried, It is important to help and look after people. We make people's day by putting a smile on their face and we believe that if you have good well-being it makes you happier and your day better." - Well-being champions.
Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
Mrs Mayfield
This programme will give students opportunities to understand their feelings and learn how to improve their well-being. ELSA sessions focus on relationships, social skills, self-esteem, feelings and emotions. These sessions will take place in 'The Snug' which is our newly transformed room within the school that children can use to express their emotions, talk about worries and improve their well-being.

Drawing and talking therapy
In the snug there will also be some sessions of 'drawing and talking therapy'. This helps children with mental health issues and children that have been through trauma. The intervention helps children to communicate their thoughts through drawing and talking. It supports children and young people and enables them to explore new communication techniques, whilst helping them to build resilience and resolve emotional distress.
The Snug
The snug is our recently renovated nurture/well-being room. It has calming colours and is decorated with positive quotes and fairy lights to boost mental health and self-esteem. The children will be able to access interventions in here if they have concerns or need to talk to somebody. We have many resources in the snug to support children in expressing their feelings, thoughts, worries and emotions.
