SEND

SEND

"Think about the many people you have taught and the weak hands you have made strong.  Your words have comforted those who fell, and you have strengthened those who could not stand."  Job ch4 v 3-4

We are proud of the fact that we are an inclusive school and all our children are special and individual - for children to 'become the best they can be.'

Sometimes some of our children need a little more help than others to achieve their potential.  Miss Ross the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Disabilities Coordinator) and the staff in your child's class are working hard to help all the children.  If you have any worries please contact us in school.

You can also visit the Local Offer link for BwD for advice on a range of SEND provision in and around Blackburn with Darwen.

We work hard to meet the needs of all our pupils, particularly those with SEND.  Check out our SEN report and other policies for more information.

    Leadership

"I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things."

    St Stephen's Tockholes Equality Objectives

The school has used a variety of information, including the analysis of data to set these objectives are set having due regard to this policy. They focus on those areas to improve equality and tackle disadvantage. The following equality objectives have been set for the four year period from September 2019 until September 2023:

    •  To monitor and analyse pupil achievement by race, gender and special educational need or disability and act on any trends or patterns in the data that require additional support for pupils.
    • To deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, that provides opportunities for all pupils to achieve the highest standards of education, using specialist programmes and dedicated resources to support pupils who need it the most. We will deliver a programme of assemblies, outside visitors and educational trips to promote the ethos of equality to pupils and help pupils develop good relationships with people of different characteristics.
    • To raise levels of pupil engagement in learning and school life, across all activities including regular attendance to ensure equity and fairness in access and engagement. We will aim to raise aspirations among children and parents and raise awareness of career options for all children, challenging gender stereotypes.

    Biblical Value

Inspiring God’s children to achieve their full potential. We are a small school but big enough to care and inspire all children. We provide a safe Christian environment for all to work and play together.
