Ofsted and Performance Data

We are extremely pleased to share that in our most recent Ofsted report dated 21st October 2021.  As you can see we remain rated a 'Good' school.  You will note our school continues to provide excellent teaching and learning experiences and our pupils really do live our school vision to be the best for themselves, each other and for God.

“Pupils at St Stephen’s really enjoy their education. They told inspectors that the school is a welcoming place to learn. Pupils said that being at school makes them feel safe and happy." Ofsted Report October 2021

EY – Baseline Assessments

Children in Early Years are assessed using the EYFS profile. This profile summarises the pupil’s attainment in relation to the 17 early learning goals (ELG) descriptors. Early Year’s staff carry out assessments which are primarily based on observing a pupil’s daily activities and events. In the final term of the year a review of all information from all sources is used to make a judgement for each pupil. The judgement is will say whether the pupil’s learning and development is:

  • Not yet at the level of development expected at the end of the EYFS (emerging)
  • Best described by the level of development expected at the end of the EYFS (expected)
  • Beyond the level of development expected at the end of the EYFS (exceeding)
